time is of the essence

We are occupied overly much these days with time management. People often reference how they don’t have time to do the things they either wish to do, or need to do. They also speak about the loss of time. Time slipping away.

Time is money, the saying goes, and more to the point, I think that it is currency. In this respect we are faced on the one hand, culturally, with a time deficit. We are in debt with time. And on the other hand, we are faced with the opportunity to leverage our time and negotiate on the basis of it.

If time is currency, then it is also wages and flow. As wages it behooves us to consider it part of the deal, if we are in a position to do so, with respect to our employment. As flow it is incumbent upon us culturally to consider it in relationship to our greatest asset - our energy.
